Is it necessary to take care of your mental health during Christmas?
Everyone will have a different opinion on this, but I think it is necessary, indeed.
For some, this care will be easy, whilst for others, difficult.
Today, I have some tips for you that will help you during these winter celebrations.
7 tips for taking care of your mental health during Christmas:
- Treat yourself with respect and dignity.
- If you need it, set “holiday boundaries” for others and yourself, and stick to them.
- Plan your time and activities so that you have fun with it.
- Meet with others with the intention of spending a quality time.
- Have realistic expectations for your family and holiday celebrations.
- Do not overeat and do not abuse alcohol, it also affects your mood.
- Allow yourself a break from everything if your stress levels start to rise alarmingly.
Simple advice is the most effective. I have experienced these many times personally and in my practice.
